Wendy Dent
 

Film Buff Production's associate producer and production manager, Wendy Dent, has been actively involved in theatre and film since the age of 12.

Before joining the film industry, she performed in, produced and production managed over 30 theatre productions, including writing, producing and performing a solo play about youth suicide and homelessness which was a headlining act for the 1994 Melbourne Fringe Festival. In 1992 she was highly commended for outstanding achievement in the Lions Youth of the Year Quest, and awarded Best Public Speaker in the ACT. 

Since joining Film Buff Productions in December 2001 as production manager, she is now an associate producer for the company, overseeing the creative development and production of all new Film Buff projects. She also has a diverse resume of short and feature length projects which she independently writes, produces, directs and edits;

 

Wendy Dent's first film “Silent Night”, featured in ‘Matinaze’, a special curated exhibition of experimental film at the Art Gallery of NSW in 1997. She has since graduated with a Bachelor of Communications (film and video) degree from the University of Technology Sydney and independently written, produced, directed, filmed and edited a further 11 short films, covering documentary, drama, experimental, music video and comedic genres, as well as 2 corporate videos.. 

Her graduating production at the University of Technology Sydney was a Super 16mm drama, "Return of the Prodigal", which she adapted and directed from on a text by acclaimed British psychologist RD Laing, with Joel Peterson as cinematographer.

Her latest production is a feature length documentary titled “Kissed By a Crocodile” which she independently filmed in Bali, will be distributed next month to film festivals and TV.  Between shooting projects, Wendy has also written an original feature film drama, "Passion Flower" to 2nd draft stage.

Wendy then joined Film Buff Productions in December 2001, taking on the production management & distribution for "The Comeback Kings" and several other projects in development and filming stages.

In July she began production on her next feature documentary, shot in Brazil, as well as editing a debut feature docu-drama about the life of Mexico's famous Tina Madotti (an associate of Frida Kahlo), shot by award winning photographer Brett Hilder. 

Later this year Wendy will then be independently producing and directing a corporate video for Kelloggs Australia. She is also developing several new documentary projects for Film Buff Productions, in an associate producer and director role.
